Black Galaxies head coach Annor Walker has given an explanation of the thinking behind his choice to initially leave Seidu Suraj off of the team that would be traveling to Egypt.
People were discussing a lot about the Hearts of Oak midfielder’s absence from the team that traveled to Cairo last month to resume their training for the 2023 African Nations Championships (CHAN).

Walker has however revealed that Hearts requested the player’s services while league play went on in a letter to the Ghana Football Association.
“Suraj was one of my important players who contributed to the team’s qualification [for the CHAN tournament], but regrettably Hearts wrote to the FA that they needed two of their players, therefore that fell on Suraj and Caleb Amankwah,” said the coach.

So that he could join the Hearts team, I had to remove Suraj off the list. Later, though, I realized that I still required him, so I informed management, who then spoke with Hearts and forced the club to release him on our behalf.

The midfielder is one of many Phobian athletes training with the Black Galaxies, including Gladson Awako, Konadu Yiadom, and Dennis Korsah.
